Eid Mubarak, my Muslim friends and family! May it be joyful and the joy carry through the year.
During Ramadan I generally try to keep posts about food and stuff to a minimum, as a courtesy to friends who are fasting. But today is Eid al-Fitr, and friends are coming over and I'm making kibbeh, hummus, barbari pide, tabouli, lebne zatar, stuffed grape leaves, and if I have time, maybe a dessert?
This would be much easier if I had full use of my right hand, but needs must and onwards we forge! I'm really looking forward to dinner.
I snapped a picture before it disappeared, because I am fast and pushy.
@MissConstrue I was expecting to see a jesus or virgin mary in them
@heretical_i Ok...and stay with me here...there's lamb in the leaves...there's lamb in the kibbeh...Jesus was the lamb of god...transubstantiation makes crackers holy....ergo, grape leaves are communion. It's all right there man, right there! (Sorry for the theosophical confusion.) Heh.
